Roman’s everything is baseball. From the beginning of his interesting life he enjoyed the fascinating game. Until, one shadowy day: World War II has started and he eagerly joins the army. He finds out that he can destroy people better in war with a tank than destroying someone in a baseball game.
I thought the book was extravagant. The author used great imagery to make a picture in your mind. Also, the fact that Roman went from being a baseball player for life to a powerful army man was so interesting. I love how the author wrote funny dialogue between the characters. Roman’s tank buddies sounded so dumb and humorous.
The memorable part of this story was when Roman joined the powerful U.S. Army. The way he joined up was so remarkable. I have never read a book when someone was that eager in joining a U.S. military group.
