POW! Poem On Wednesday

Joy, by Laura Haskins-Bookser

Tears rolled down my cheeks

squeezed through eyes

crinkled up from laughter

Stop

No really

Stop

You’re killing me

I can hardly breathe

When was the last time I laughed like this?

Oh, right

It was the last time you were here

Tears rolled down my cheeks

squeezed through eyes

scrunched up in sadness

Stop

No really

Stop

Don’t leave yet

I can hardly breathe

At the thought of being alone again
