Teen Review– This Wicked Game by Michelle Zink

[Cover]

Running a business in New Orleans can be very dangerous…especially if it is a voodoo business. Claire and her mother are learning this business fact the hard way when a mysterious woman places a special order for deadly Panther Plasm. Horrified, Claire immediately tells her mother  who rushes them to a guild meeting to discuss what to do. As Claire investigates further, she realizes that voodoo is even more dangerous than she ever imagined, and SHE may be the main target of some menacing people.

This Wicked Game, although not the best book I’ve ever read, was a very good book. The mystery was well-composed and had many twists and turns to keep you reading. Additionally, the book was bursting with action. The main character, Claire, was daring but cautious in just the right way. My favorite part was the ending because it was superbly written and unpredictable.

This Wicked Game’s most memorable moment is when Claire and Xander break into the mysterious woman’s house who ordered the Panther Plasma and almost get caught doing it. The scene had me on the edge of my seat!
