Read + Review — Tidal, by Amanda Hocking

Tidal is about a girl named Gemma who is cursed to be a siren, a superstitious creature that has the power to curse men and women with her siren song, change form from a beautiful girl to bird to monster, and swim very well. Gemma and her sister, Harper, have found out important information about how to break the siren curse. There is only one problem though, the sirens who cursed Gemma are finding a replacement for her soon. Gemma also faces emotional problems along the way with boys, her sister, and the curse.

I thought that in this book you could really feel the way the characters were feeling because of the way Amanda Hocking wrote. The book contained many different twists and turns, but was easy to follow and not get confused. The author made me want to read the next book in the series to find out what would happen. This book was one of the best novels I have ever read.

The most memorable thing about this book was how all the sirens except Gemma didn’t even hesitate to kill someone else. They did not even hesitate when they were killing their own sisters or friends.
